I'm New Here

IT’S REALLY TOUGH TO VISIT A CHURCH FOR THE FIRST TIME, RIGHT?

PARTICULARLY IF YOU’RE NOT USED TO GOING TO CHURCH IN THE FIRST PLACE!

We believe God is a gracious community of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and He wants to welcome you into His community. We do too. You can expect a warm welcome from someone the first time you walk in the door. Don’t hesitate to ask questions about anything. If you want to dig a little deeper, community groups meet through the week, and we can help you connect with one in your area of Greater Portland.

ALL ARE WELCOME

We welcome all people no matter who you are or where you come from. We want to offer you an opportunity to grow in your faith in God through Jesus Christ no matter where you are in your spiritual journey. Feel free to stay after the Sunday morning worship service for refreshments and conversation or even a Sunday school class.

NURSERY

If you have children, they are more than welcome in the worship service with you, or if they’re 3 years old or younger, we have a safe and fun nursery environment where they can spend time with trained helpers and other children while you are in the service.

OUR WORSHIP SERVICE

Come as you are. We start our service at 9:30 a.m. by singing God’s praises led by one of our four music teams. We learn together from God’s Word, we pray and encourage one another to grow in God’s grace. Our hope is that you have an opportunity every time the church gathers to be transformed by the living God among us so that you will be better equipped to transform the world with the gospel.

SUNDAY SCHOOL & EQUIP

Following the worship service, we have Sunday School for all ages beginning at 11:00 a.m. During that time we also have two EQUIP groups, one for young adults, and one for the rest of us that meet during the Sunday School hour. EQUIP is focused on learning tools for abiding in Christ and making disciples of Jesus. We hope you will join us.

If you have more questions about what you should expect on a Sunday morning or what we believe, or if you want to meet with our pastor, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

OUR MOVEMENT

Community of Grace is an autonomous congregation of believers submitted to Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, and we associate with the Evangelical Free Church of America. The EFCA movement is committed to Jesus Christ, to the gospel, and to interdependence among churches.

We partner with many other churches and ministries in this mission. We especially seek to maintain a kindred spirit with all groups which hold to the Bible as God’s inerrant, infallible word and whose purpose is to propagate the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
