Ross Hickey

Elder

I’ve just started serving as an Elder  at Community of Grace but my family has been attending the church for over 15 years.

What first drew us here was the welcoming friendly environment  we encountered the moment we entered through the front doors for the first time. We are so grateful to be a part of a community of people genuinely desiring to be disciples of Christ and actively encouraging others seeking to know God in a personal and meaningful way.

Outside of ministry, I have been married to Bethany for almost twenty years and we have four children. I enjoy the outdoors, particularly fly fishing. With my son William and Pastor Ken I just hiked Katahdin for the first time despite growing up in Maine and had a tremendous time.

One verse that has anchored my walk with the Lord is:

Romans 12:9-13: Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
